I am a very active 71 year old (ouch!) with a husband, Richard, four step sons, seven grandchildren and various grand dogs and cats.

My first encounter with Lauren was Saturday morning Zumba at PSC Society Hill. She was replacing a beloved instructor, so I was skeptical. I think it took one and a half classes, and a locker room conversation for my skepticism to disappear.

Lauren's infectious personality-her bubbly enthusiasm energy and smarts (oh, and fun and creative classes) won me over.

Her class was definitely worth walking across town early Saturday morning!

When COVID hit and gyms closed I was lost. I love to exercise, and am normally an extremely busy person. Sooo, when Lauren stepped up to the plate with her streaming and videos I was thankful. I started with Zumba, but now really love the 'Buns and Guns' and 'Strength and Core' classes best. 

The best thing about LH Fitness is Lauren! The second best are the videos. When a livestream time isn't good for me, I can choose my own time to work out.

Thank you, Lauren, for helping to keep me positive and in shape during this trying time! I'm hoping to keep my summer weight through the winter by working out with LH Fitness and making some of the delicious smoothies featured in the newsletter

Why Your Fitness Mindset Matters

The key to sticking with a workout program may be strengthening the “muscle” between your ears.
If you've taken any of my classes, you've heard me say things like:
"Challenge yourself." 
"Pick the level that you think you're at. Then do the next level up." 
"Push your limits. Surprise yourself." 

These are all motivational mindset phrases designed to help you shift your "I can't do it" mindset. Because I know that you can do it! And now we just need to get you to believe that you can do it! 

You read the articles and listened to the podcasts. You bought the shoes, consulted the trainer, set the goals. But try as you might, something keeps sabotaging your best intentions to exercise regularly.

I’m too busy, you tell yourself, rattling off a list of legitimate obligations and responsibilities. Who has the time? 

Or you berate yourself: Why bother? I’ve tried getting fit before. It never sticks. You clearly lack the willpower, you convince yourself as you stand on the precipice of abandoning exercise for good.

But what if your problem wasn’t time management, your distaste for sweating, or lack of follow-through?

There’s a good chance, in fact, that all these obstacles have a single cause: your mindset.
